Your frontend slows down every new feature.

Grown over the years, extended by changing teams, built on a framework hardly anyone maintains anymore. Every change takes longer than planned, and a complete rebuild seems too risky and too expensive.

What waiting costs you every month

An outdated frontend costs more than development time. New features reach your customers later, security issues in unmaintained dependencies stay open, and good developers don't want to work with technology from ten years ago.

Without tests, it is also hard to tell whether a change breaks something, even when it comes from an AI agent. The longer the switch is postponed, the more expensive it gets.

A frontend does not become outdated overnight. Over the years, workarounds, special cases and dependencies pile up that nobody fully understands anymore. Every new requirement has to work its way through this grown code. The cost does not show up on any invoice: it hides in lost time, open risks and a team that repairs more than it builds. AI agents can read, explain and rewrite this code in very little time today. What they don't know isn't written anywhere in the code: which special case is still business-critical, which behavior your customers rely on and how much risk you can take while the product is live. Without that context, an agent may well modernize the wrong things, and do it very fast.

Does this sound familiar?

Small changes take weeks instead of days.

After every release, bugs show up in places nobody touched.

Your framework, such as AngularJS or jQuery, is no longer being developed.

How I approach it

Assessment

I analyze the code, dependencies and release process, supported by AI agents that search even large, undocumented codebases in days instead of weeks. I assess myself where the biggest risks and the quickest wins are. You get a clear recommendation instead of a slide deck.

Step-by-step migration

Instead of a risky big-bang relaunch, I replace the old frontend module by module. AI agents take over the repetitive rewriting, while I set the architecture and patterns and review every change. Old and new parts run side by side, so your product can ship at any time.

Handover to your team

Tests, documentation and joint code reviews make sure your team can keep developing the new frontend on its own, including with AI tools, which deliver much better results in a clear structure.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to rebuild everything?

No. In most cases a step-by-step migration is cheaper and safer than a rebuild. We figure out which path suits you during the assessment.

Can we keep shipping features in the meantime?

Yes. The migration runs alongside day-to-day business, and new features are built directly in the modernized part of the frontend.

Do you work with our existing team?

Yes, that's what I prefer. I work inside your team, with your tools and processes, remotely or on site by arrangement.

Which technologies do you use?

Proven technology with long-term support instead of short-lived trends: TypeScript, automated tests, modern build tools and a clear component structure. What matters most is that your team masters the technology confidently after the handover.

Which framework do we migrate to?

That depends on your existing system and your team's know-how, often it is Angular, React or Vue. I recommend the framework that fits your situation and explain the choice in the assessment. The old and the new framework can run side by side during the migration.

Can't AI just do this?

Partly, and that's exactly what I use it for. Agents migrate code faster than any person today. But they don't decide which legacy can go and which special case is business-critical, and they don't notice when a change works but breaks something elsewhere. Those decisions and the responsibility for the result stay with me. That way you get the speed of AI without taking its risks blindly.
