Your application keeps users waiting.
The page is loading, the spinner keeps spinning, and your users wait. On a phone over a mobile network it is even worse. Google rates your Core Web Vitals as poor, and nobody on the team knows exactly why.
An application becomes slow gradually. Every new library, every tracking script and every unchecked image makes it a little heavier. With AI-generated code this happens even faster: it works, but often brings extra dependencies, and nobody checks what they cost in loading time. In the office with a fast computer and fiber you barely notice, but your users on the go notice right away. Without measurements, optimization is guesswork, and the work often happens in the wrong places.
Does this sound familiar?
Pages take several seconds before they can be used.
The interface stutters or responds to clicks and input with a delay.
Search Console reports poor Core Web Vitals.
What waiting costs you every month
Every second of waiting costs attention, and impatient users don't come back. Orders, inquiries and sign-ups are lost before the page has even loaded. At the same time, poor Core Web Vitals feed into your Google ranking, and you pay more for ads to get the same traffic.
How I approach it
Measure
I measure loading times and Core Web Vitals under realistic conditions and find out which causes matter most: bundle size, images, fonts, third-party scripts or rendering.
Optimize where it counts
I implement the measures with the biggest impact first, such as code splitting, optimized images, caching or less JavaScript. AI agents take over routine work like converting many images or imports, while I set the direction and review the result. Every change is measured before and after.
Stay fast
Performance budgets and automated measurements in your CI pipeline make sure the application stays fast as new features are added, whether the code comes from your team or from AI tools.
Frequently asked questions
How do we know whether optimizing is worth it?
The initial measurement shows how far your application is from good values and which measures bring how much. You decide based on numbers, not assumptions.
What are Core Web Vitals?
Three Google metrics that rate a page's loading speed, responsiveness and visual stability: LCP, INP and CLS. They feed into rankings and reflect well how fast a page feels to users.
Do we have to switch our technology?
In most cases, no. The biggest gains usually lie in how the existing technology is used. If a deeper rebuild makes sense, I show you the benefit beforehand.
Do you also take care of the backend?
My focus is the frontend, where most loading time problems arise. If the bottleneck is in the server or database, I point that out in the analysis and work with your backend team.
How do we keep the application from getting slow again?
With performance budgets and automated measurements on every release. If a change exceeds the limits, you notice right away, not your users.
Can't AI optimize the application on its own?
AI knows the usual optimizations and applies them quickly, which is why I use it for that. But only measuring under real conditions shows which measure actually helps in your case. Without it, AI optimizes in the wrong places, and with great confidence. I combine both: measurement and assessment by me, implementation with AI support, the result backed by numbers.
